Bishop Olson announces the formation of a new parish in eastern Denton County

Bishop Michael Olson has erected a new parish in the Prosper, Frisco, and Little Elm area of Denton County. He made the announcement Sunday, Dec. 28, during a Mass he celebrated for the Prosper/Frisco/Little Elm community.


Father Anh Tran named diocese’s new Judicial Vicar

The Very Rev. Anh Tran, JCL, has been appointed Judicial Vicar for the Diocese of Fort Worth by Bishop Michael Olson, effective Jan. 1. Father Tran will oversee the diocese’s Marriage Tribunal, which adjudicates the marital status in the Catholic Church of any divorced person who has requested a declaration of annulment of a previous marriage.


Diocese of Fort Worth Year of Consecrated Life Celebration

In faithful response to the Holy Father, the local Church will host “The Diocese of Fort Worth Celebration for The Year of Consecrated Life, Clergy, and Vocations” on Feb. 6, 2015, beginning at 6:30 p.m. at St. Patrick Cathedral in Fort Worth, and continuing at the adjacent Pastoral Center. The day will mark an observance for this year’s World Day for Consecrated Life and serve as the start of the 2015 Year of Consecrated Life.
