EF1 tornado rips bell tower from Our Lady of Lourdes Church, does other minor damage

An EF1 tornado that blew through Mineral Wells May 19 ripped the bell tower off the chapel of Our Lady of Lourdes Church but spared the bell that calls parishioners to worship. “I thought that was an amazing miracle in itself,” said church member Dorothy Ortiz. “The bell tower was destroyed, but the bell is still standing!”
