Pentecost celebrates the birth of the Church when the disciples were emboldened by the Holy Spirit to travel the world and proclaim the Good News. On the vigil of that feast day, three men from the Diocese of Fort Worth were empowered by receiving the Sacrament of Holy Orders to embark on the same mission of forgiveness and reconciliation.
An EF1 tornado that blew through Mineral Wells May 19 ripped the bell tower off the chapel of Our Lady of Lourdes Church but spared the bell that calls parishioners to worship. “I thought that was an amazing miracle in itself,” said church member Dorothy Ortiz. “The bell tower was destroyed, but the bell is still standing!”
