Father Jim Miller, founding pastor of St. Joseph Parish in Arlington, passed away at the age of 83. Fr. Miller was retired and residing at St. Francis Village.
The faith community of St. Thomas the Apostle Parish broke ground for a new church Nov. 8 but the moment was bittersweet for a least one longtime parishioner. “I’m excited because we’re seeing a lot of new faces, but the old church holds memories,” admitted Cathy Thomas, a member for more than 40 years. “We were married in this church and my children were baptized here. It’s going to be sad to leave but we need a change.”
