He was on his morning jog 31 years ago when a falling tree broke his spinal cord, leaving him partially paralyzed. GEORGETOWN, Guyana (CNS) -- Patrick Daly was orphaned at age 8, and that's when the tumor on his right cheek began to grow. It was small at first. Daly would touch its hard surface, but he didn't know what it was.
