Take a walk on the path of Advent

As Christmas nears, we get inundated with messages emphasizing the materialism of Christmas. There's so much to do. It's easy to succumb and begin to dread what's ahead.

Prepare the way of the King

John the Baptist, along with the Blessed Virgin Mary, is one of the two reoccurring figures in Advent to emulate during this time of penance and waiting. They are both our guides and exemplars of faithfulness, hope, and love in this season.

Be watchful and stay awake!

At this beginning of the Advent season, we hear first from our Lord, Jesus Christ. And it is He who reminds us that our season of waiting is not merely a waiting of four weeks before Christmas morning.
